How Could EC Hold A Workshop Despite Govt Ban On Social Gatherings? -HRH Doe Lauds Hon. Sam George For Standing Against It

HRH Oscar Yao Doe has heaped tonnes of praises on Hon. Sam George (MP for Ningo-Prampram Constituency) for coming out bold to condemn a recent workshop held by the Electoral Commission despite clear government order banning all public gatherings and activities to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said for the public condemnation of the said workshop by the MP, Ghanaians would have been left unaware of this excercise by the EC, capable of landing the country in trouble, talking about the spread of the virus. The MP has said he is planning to file an order of contempt against the EC for allegedly going ahead with the workshop despite a high court injunction. On Saturday, April 25, reports came out that EC officials were meeting at the City Escape Hotel at Airport, in Accra for a workshop, scheduled to be held in Prampram. The workshop, according to an internal memo by the EC, is to prepare its officials for the controversial compilation of new voters’ register this year.
In a public post today, HRH Doe questioned whether the EC and National Identification Authority (NIA) has other motives rather than the good interests of Ghanaians, to have been going ahead with certain exercises even when the timing is absolutely wrong? The Doscar Group Holdings Chairman wondered why public institutions would be hell-bent on going ahead with activities when religious, sports and other key organizations have all halted their activities, in obedience to government's directive. He however described the action as yet another confirmation of the insincerity and double standards syndrome that the Akufo-Addo administration is synonymous with. Read his full post below..
Well Done, Honourable Sam George. Without Your Bold And Courageous Intervention, The Electoral Commission Would Have Successfully Done Held Unlawful Workshop, As Against The President's Announcement. When Did Our Once-Reverred Electoral Commission (EC) Become (A) Dishonest Organisation? There Was A Crystal Clear Announcement On TV By President Akufo Addo, Which Was Interpreted To (Even) Deaf Ears. The Message Was That Though The President Was Lifting The Ban On Lockdown Of Movement, The Ban On Social Gathering Is Still In Force. It Was As Clear As Snow Or Pure Water.
What's The Exact Difficulty The Electoral Commission And National Identification Authority Are Having? Perhaps They Are Just Shortsighted And Have Forgotten That The Next 10-100 Years And Beyond, There Is Going To Be A Reference Point Of Verdict (That Will) Look Back At This Critical Moment in History.

Consistently, President Akufo Addo (Has Been) Acting Against Public Trust. He (Will) Say One Thing In Public Announcement Or Through Posters And Placards, And Then, He (Will) Unleash His Appointees To Do The Opposite.

This (Is) Hypocrisy Of The Highest Level! (Such) Never Seen Before In Ghana's Political And Governance History, Since Independence.
Even General Acheampong Kept His Words And Rolled Out 'Operation Feed Yourself' When It Was Needed Most, To Feed Ghanainans.

Even; Churches, Mosques, Synagogues,Etc.,That Have Played Significant Roles In Healing Human Souls From Generation To Generation, Have Adjusted To The Reality. Religion Has Played An Unmatched Role In Human Lives, (And) Has Endured Thousands Of Years, (Despite) Many Human Tragedies. Yet, (It Still) Sacrifices To Protect Human Comfort Against Suffering And Pain.

These Organisations Have Been Asked To Halt Their Activities To Help Curtail The Spread Of Covid19 And They Have Peacefully Adhere To It For Our Collective Good.

The Message Was Also Clear On Conferences, Concerts, Sports Activities, Funerals, Etc. (Whereas), Everyone Understands The Need, And Supports The Decision Made By The President.
