Karporship Power Plant Supplying 26% Of Ghana's Electricity Needs; JM Delivered -HRH Oscar Doe


Ghanaians today, remain grateful to Mr. John Mahama for launching the 450 Megawatts Karporship Power plant project inTema in 2014, that currently supplies 26% of the country's power needs, HRH Oscar Yao Doe has said. The reputable businessman made this submission in one of his posts, where he has been extolling Mahama's legacies. According to him, the monumental project is a clear confirmation of Mahama's caring and compassionate spirit.

In June 2014, The John Mahama Administration Signed A 450 Megawatts Contract With Karpowership To Deploy a Powership To Ghana For A Period of 10 Years.

The Powerships Have Been in Operation in Tema Since 2015, Utilizing HFO. With Deployment to Sekondi Naval Base Within 2nd Quarter of 2019, The fuel Is Switching To Indigenous Natural Gas.

It Has Been a Significant Step Towards Meeting The Electricity Demand of Ghana’s Population, Businesses And Heavy Industries,


This Monumental Project Was Actually Karpowership’s First Project in The Entire African Continent. The Karpowership Power Generation Plant is Currently Supplying 26% of Ghana’s Total Electricity Needs.
