Funke Akindele's Ex, KenDoo Set To Become LG Chairman In Lagos

Barring any unforeseen issue, ex-husband of actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede is set to become the next Chairman of Oshodi-IsoloLocal Government in Lagos.

KenDoo, as he is fondly called got married to Funke at an elaborate wedding held at the Haven events centre, in Ikeja GRA on May 26, 2012. The marriage lasted only 14 months (although Funke said she only enjoyed it for 2 months) before Oloyede announced on social media in July 2013 that he was through with the star actress, citing irreconcilable differences.

They have both moved on with their lives. While KenDoo who was earlier married, had returned to his other wives, Funke remarried three years later, tying the nuptial knot with musician JJC Skillz, in London in May 2016. Their union is already blessed with a set of twins.

Moving on after parting ways with the movie star, KenDoo, who is known to be a property developer, crept into politics and his popularity soared that he became a well-known grassroots politician and a great mobilizer. He was a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) where he contested for elective posts twice and lost on both occasions; including the Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 1 House of Representatives in 2007. But in late 2013, he dumped the party for the then ACN, and later APC, where his political chances brightened up.

Oloyede also took another leap in his political journey when he reconciled with Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) who has been the strongman of Oshodi. Kendoo and MC Musiliu were at loggerheads for a couple of years and on different occasions, with reported bloody clashes between their followers. After embracing peace, KenDoo and MC got so close and the Chairman of Lagos NURTW is one of the big supporters Oloyede's chairmanship ambition, which we heard has gotten the nod of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, whom he had assaulted severally few years back during the market women leadership tussle between his mother, Alhaja Almaroof and the late Iyaloja General Alhaja Abibat Mogaji.

Although the date for the coming LG elections in Lagos has not been announced, CityScoop gathered that KenDoo been garnering tremendous support from the entire electorate across Oshodi-Isolo council area who will determine the fate of aspirants during the election. The election will be holding around February 2021, according to a trusted source who also told us that he (KenDoo) has already been 'anointed' to take take over from Bolaji Ariyo, the outgoing chairman of the local government and it appears all things are working well for him in this regard.

Meanwhile, in other news, the well-loved actress turns 43 today.
