Yesterday, September 3, 2020, members of the Oyo state chapter of Association of former chairmen of Local Governments Of Nigeria, ASELGON had their monthly meeting at the Development Support Centre, Ibadan.
The southwest chairman of the association, Hon. Ademola Ojo (Ijaya) presided over the meeting in the absence of the state chairman, Hon. Ezekiel Oyedepo of Orire local government. At the meeting, they had fruitful deliberations and came out with key resolutions.
According to a communique issued yesterday, September 3, and signed by Hon. Wale Ogunmola and Hon. Biodun Adedoja, members of the association agreed to reach out to colleagues that are in position to consolidate on the activities of the platform. They also agreed to set up a befitting office.
The Oyo ASELGON members also resolved to position themselves for future politics in Oyo State.
Another resolution agreed to by the members of the association is to work on placing themselves to be recognized as stakeholders in their various political parties, by working for inter party peace.
The ex-council chairmen also agreed to instill and promote the tenets of good democratic practice and value among their followers.
Other key resolutions they also agreed on include; supporting the fight against corruption and other vices in public office, as well as promoting the continuity of good governance and discontinuity of bad governance in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
