Maiduguri, the Borno state capital will be agog this weekend, as friends and associates of late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua would be stepping up to support Hajia Turai, his widow, for the wedding of his son, Shehu on Saturday, July 23. The creme of the Nigerian political class will be attending the wedding Fathia of Shehu Yar'adua to his bride-to-be, Yacine, the 22-year-old daughter of Hon. Mohammed-Nur Sheriff, a prominent Borno businessman and politician who is the brother of a former governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff.
Yacine holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Shehu, aged 29, had his first degree in Economics from the Schellhammer Business School, Spain. He subsequently obtained a master’s in International Relations from Webster University in Netherlands.
Back in 2017, it was a talk-of-the-town wedding in Maiduguri when the bride's sister, Hadiza and Mustafa Indimi, son of Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi, one of Nigeria's most prominent billionaires got married.
