The Ikate Elegushi palace in Lagos may soon be welcoming a brand new queen, as the handsome Elegushi of Ikateland, HRM Oba Saheed Elegushi may be adding a third Olori. A little over three years ago, Olori Hadiza Elegushi became the second queen in the palace after the monarch's first wife, Quuen Sekinat Elegushi. CityScoop sources have hinted that an Edo-born princess is the next Olori of in line.
Checks reveal Tonya Lawani, a rich lady who runs the SEAL Group - one of the fastest growing conglomeratea in Nigeria with companies that are into advertising, hospitality, retail, print media, marketing communications|, construction & procurement|, and hygiene & medical equipments OEM/supplies. She is well-connected and is close to a couple of Lagos Big Babes. She is one of the landlords at Banana Island in Lagos. Tonya already has a son from a previous marriage. Our sources however hinted that she is currently on the proverbial 9-months course, and the king is expecting a royal baby soon. CityScoop however, cannot confirm if the monarch has performed any marital rites on the incoming Olori. Don't forget that he also didn't make any noise when he picked his second Olori.
The relationship between Tonya and the king didn't just start. We understood its been a couple of years now. Interestingly, the first wife, Olori Sekinat shares a good relationship with her as well, just as the monarch's mum, Olori Sinat Elegushi. She celebrated them on their birthdays specially. Tonya was fully on ground during Oba Elegushi's 45th birthday celebration in November 2021. She was also very much in attendance at the 80th birthday celebration of the king's mum in May.
Recall that in March, Oba Saheed Elegushi lost his only son and heir apparent to the throne (from his second wife, Queen Hadiza). The young prince was just one year and seven months old before his unfortunate death. They have since lived on above the setback and the love between the Elegushi and Hadiza is still thick. Just three months ago, the monarch celebrated his third anniversary with Olori Hadiza. The king took to social media to share sweet words about her, praying that "Allah continue to keep us together". Elegushi married Hadiza, the Kano-born daughter of a renowned politician, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai in May 2020. They had a Nikkai in Abuja.
