Stories about the royal romance between the Ooni and Kogi-beauty, Mariam have been flying for a while now - and yesterday's event has eventually put all doubts to bed. What happened yesterday was just the traditional wedding ; we gathered that a grand wedding party has been slated for next month. Sources said it is going to be a double celebration as it would fall around the 48th birthday on October 17. According to a report, since Ooni's birthday this year falls on a Monday, the wedding party would be celebrated the day before - Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The monarch's new marriage is announced about 10 months after his previous marriage to Princess Naomi ended. The Ooni revealed Naomi Oluwaseyi as his wife on Instagram on October 18, 2018 - and in December last year announced on Instagram that she was no longer in the marriage. Yesterday's was the third wedding to hold in the Enuwa Palace since Ooni Ogunwusi ascended the thrown as the 51st Ooni.
