The reward for excellence is recognition. This saying perhaps best describes the story of Mrs Funke Adepeju, the hardworking Executive Secretary, Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission. The LAWRACO Executive Secretary recently bagged the Prestigious Fellowship Award of the Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers (NIWE). The award is in recognition of her focused leadership and her commitment to excellence in the water sector.
Since her appointment into office in November 2019 by Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, Adepoju has run an impressive tenure in office - with track record of excellent service delivery.
It’s also another celebratory moment for Mrs Adepoju as she marked her 54th birthday yesterday. Friends, family, well-wishers, staff of her commission, as well as others across the Lagos Civil service celebrated her widely on the occasion.
Born on 25th September, 1969, she holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A Ed.) English, Masters in Education Management (M.Ed) and Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo and University of Ilorin respectively. Mrs Adepoju is also an alumni of the Havard University School of Government, USA.
Prior to her current appointment, Mrs Adepoju had served in the Ministries of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Economic Planning and Budget (MEPB). She was part of the team that started the processing of the admission of Lagos State into the 100 Resilient Cities in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
