Pathetic: Popular Lagos Clothier, Rekiyat Abdulazeez Dies Weeks To Her 50th Birthday

Close family, friends and those who know popular Lagos-based clothier, Rekiyat Aisha Abdulazeez have been thrown into deep mourning since news of her sudden death broke few days back. She passed away on Saturday, 2nd September, 2023 after a failed surgery, CityScoop sources hinted. Those who had seen her days before she was reported dead were shell-shocked. The deceased was not ill, neither did she complain of any ailment, according to those who are close to her. A close source revealed that Rekiyat died of complications fromfibroid surgery at a popular hospital around Ogba in Lagos.

Until her death, Rekiyat ran an upscale fabric store (@rekisha_moda) on Bode Thomas, Surulere Lagos. Painfully, she was said to be looking forward to her 50th birthday in November. We scooped that plans were in top gear by her close friends celebrate her with a surprise party. Her plan, we heard, was to spend mark her 50th birthday while observing Umrah in Saudi Arabia with her mum.

She has since been buried on the 3rd of September at the Agege Cemetery for Muslims. An 8th day fidau will be held in her honour on 10th September in Surulere.

The late Rekiya Abdulazeez was blessed with a very good personality that many fell in love with during her lifetime. She has been described generally as being calm and benevolent.
