Exposed! Kunle Poly Sponsoring Media Attacks Against MC Oluomo Over Lagos NURTW Chairmanship

A smear campaign against Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) is currently spreading in around town and revelations have shown that it is not unconnected to the change of leadership that is about to happen in the Lagos State NURTW. The campaign of calumny, facts have emerged, is being sponsored by some disgruntled members of the transport workers union, who have refused to come to terms with the general belief that the odds have favoured MC Oluomo to emerge the next Chairman of the state chapter at the election holding in few weeks.

It is widely believed that Oluomo already enjoys the backing of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to succeed the erstwhile state chairman of the union, Alhaji Tajudeen Agbede who has now become the union's National Vice President. The state governor, Babajide Sanwoolu is also already disposed to Oluomo's emergence as Agbede's successor.

However, people close to Oluomo have alleged that a chieftain of the union who is strong on Lagos Island, Alhaji Abdulazeez Adekunle Lawal, popularly known as Kunle Poly is the mastermind behind the ill campaigns against Akinsanya. They alleged that he is the one sponsoring some members of the union to go against Oluomo's bid to become next  Lagos NURTW Chairman.

The immediate-past Chairman, Agbede is also reported not to be in support of Oluomo succeeding him.

This afternoon, a key figure in Kunle Poly's camp gave a revelation that to further continue his plot, he  has shared ten thousand naira each to about 100 persons to stage protests against Oluomo at the Governor's office in Ikeja, Asiwaju's house in Ikoyi on Monday.

Another plot already employed by Kunle poly and his loyalists was the false campaign that zoning does not favour Oluomo to be the next Chairman. A group of members have already gone to the media to publish their grievances against Oluomo. The members said contrary to the constitution of the union, Oluomo, who has spent eight years as the state Treasurer and coming from the senatorial district which rotational system of the chairmanship does not favour, has been parading himself as the next Chairman, claiming he has the backing of the state Governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, Asiwaju Tinubu and the newly appointed National Chairman of NURTW.

Meanwhile, further checks revealed that there was no time the union officially adopted zoning in determining who gets elected into the executive.

In the meantime, those in the camp of MC Oluomo are upbeat about their principal's chances of becoming the Chairman any moment at the coming election. "MC is currently out of the country, and he is aware of all their evil plots. But he is not even fazed by any of them. He has paid his dues in the union and the time for him to take his own opportunity has come. He is remains positive and has expressed confidence in the current caretaker committee to put together a rancour-free, election", a close aide of his said.
