Businessman and philanthropist of note, Oscar Yao Doe @hrhoscaryaodoe was in very high spirit today after he attended the graduation ceremony of one of the schools he sponsors in the Volta Region of Ghana. It is on record that the succeful businessman has never missed the graduation ceremony of the school despite his tight schedules around the world.
After attending this year's edition, a highly elated Oscar expressed how proud he felt, seeing his contributions to education manifesting good results. The Doscar Group Chairman is known for various philanthropic efforts, especially in the area of education in his country, Ghana and across Africa.
"I am a proud father of a community!", an exited Oscar said.
"I (have) supported more than 100 people to university in Ghana, supported many to do Masters Degree abroad, build schools, adopt schools; including Bassam Orphanage in Abidjan Cote D'ivoire, (and also did) a game-changer action for Teshie Royal Orphanage in Accra", he also said.
"At our school in Dabala (#KingOscar School) we provide free breakfast & lunch for the children. The school admission is free, tuition is free. We recruit university graduate teachers only. We pay all teachers' salary including allowances. We provide all teaching textbooks. We provide accommodation for teachers! The school is colourful & fashionable!", Oscar continued.
Recounting more of his philanthropic efforts, he sad.. "I have also supported many small scale businesses with capital injection. I have taken care of my cousins to the level of university and those who don't have the ability to complete university, I make them get vocational training. I have supported many artistes in Ghana, Nigeria and Cote D'ivoire in the past 18 years. I have supported African arts, paintings and sculptures to increase in value through my patronage. I have also supported and encouraged the fashion industry, including inspiring Red Carpet appearances in Ghana,Nigeria & Cote D'ivoire!"
"But for many years I was so naive, I didn't realise I have done something monumental for the society till my eyes started opening recently because of the massive transformation my actions have impacted unto many communities! This is Wow Wow Wow! I felt soo proud of myself! I am thankful to God for this special grace!"
Meanwhile, the benevolent businessman has revealed his plan to do more in years to come. Key among Oscar's plan is to build an iconic university for communities in Ghana's Volta region.
"The next target within 15 years is to build a state-of-the-art, iconic university edifice in Dabala that will evoke a lot of emotions for inspiration", he revealed.
