Sad: Akufo-Addo, Jean Mensa; 2 Lawyers Turning Election In Ghana Into Power-Grabbing And Money-Making Machine -HRH Oscar Doe

Frontline businessman, HRH Oscar Yao Doe has once again expressed his disappointment in President Akufo-Addo and Jean Mensa; 2 learned lawyers, who according to him, have failed to build consensus among the important political key players and civil society (organisations), including Chiefs in Ghana. He also accused them of turning election, a simple civic duty into power-grabbing and money-making tool. He wondered why these two individuals, with good knowlegde of law and exposure have dissapointed their country by their inability to put together flawless elections, built on consensus.

In his latest public post, the Doscar Group Holdings chairman however, sent a strong warning to anyone manipulating elections now, reminding them that they can get away with their actions now, but they will come back to haunt them and their families tomorrow. He cited Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Jacob Zuma of South Africa, Jose Eduardo dos-Santos of Angola as instances.

"When 2 Lawyers Turn Civic Duty Into Money Making & Power Grabbing Machine. History Books Are Recording...

1. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo:  Senior Advocate of Ghana (SAG). Attended Lancing College, University of Ghana, Oxford, Inns of Court School of Law. Called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) July 1971 and called to the Ghanaian Bar 1975.
He began politics in the late 1970's by joining the People's Movement For Freedom & Justice (PMFJ) to oppose General Kutu Acheampong-led Supreme Military Council's Union Government. He was one of the Notable Leaders at the Kumepreko Demonstration in May 1995 against the Rawlings government's introduction of VAT. Akufo-Addo later formed the Ghana Committee on Human & People's Rights. WHAT HAS CHANGED NOW?

During J.A Kuffuor era, Akufo-Addo was Attorney General & Minister of Justice from 2001-2004, Minister for Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration (2005-2008). WHAT HAS CHANGED?

Akufo-Addo stood for presidential primaries in 1998, 2007, 2014, and presidential elections in 2008, 2012, 2016, and Perhaps 2020. WHAT HAS CHANGED?

2. Jean Adukwei Mensa: Current Electoral Commissioner of Ghana. A junior lawyer, studied law at the University of Ghana. Executive Education from Harvard Business School in 2018 (I HOPE IT'S NOT THE USUAL GETFUND SPONSORSHIP), called to the Ghanaian Bar in 1996. Worked at IEA For 18 years, (where she) later became Executive Director.
NOW LET ME RE-EDUCATE THE TWO LEARNED FELLOWS ON ELECTION:

An Election is a formal group decision-making process, by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office. It's usually used in democratic nations with consensus building. Elections have been the usual mechanism by which modern representative democracy has operated to fill offices of legislature, the executive (presidency), sometimes the judiciary, regional and local governments. It is also used by private and business organizations, from clubs to voluntary association and corporations, to select leaders.

Sadly, these so-called, 2 learned lawyers have failed to build consensus among the important political key players and civil society (organisations), including Chiefs in Ghana. This development is very dangerous if not handled with the necessary precautions and the needed consultations.

My Conclusion: Elections are not money-making or power-grabbing machine. Elections are 'PURELY A PROUD CIVIC DUTY', which should Be undertaken peacefully with joy and one accord. You can get away with manipulating elections now, but it will come back to haunt you and your family tomorrow. Ask Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Jacob Zuma of South Africa, Jose Eduardo dos-Santos of Angola, Etc."
