Chairman of Doscar Group Holdings, HRH Oscar Yao Doe has questioned the sense behind the decision of the Akufo-Addo administration to deplete what is left of the purse of the country for a new national registration exercise and compilation of a new voter register. He wondered why a whoping GHS 1.2 billion will be spent on the National Identification Registration exercise and the Electoral Commission would spend over 200 million dollars on having a new voter register, at a time Ghanaians are going through the worst hardship of their lives.
The businessman also alleged that both the Electoral Commission and National Identification Authority have been turned into manipulation machines by the current administration.

The spread of 'DishonestVirus' into Ghana's institutions, (whereby the) Electoral Commission and National Identification Authority (have been) turned into manipulation machines.
Most Ghanaians think these people don't care about peaceful coexistence of Ghanaians. The do-nothing, empty-headed, needy and greedy degree holders.

Why manipulating (a simple) civic duty? Don't plunge Ghana into confusion! Registration for identification is a civic duty. In most democracies, voting or election are the most acceptable methods for electing or selecting individuals or a group of people to lead, or to steer the affairs of society. End of story.
Such undertakings are done peacefully through honest dialogue, and broad consultations with stakeholders to build consensus in order to generate public participation and acceptance. (A typical instance here) is the creation of new regions, which was broadly supported and accepted by Ghanaians.
Meanwhile, National Identification Registration will cost GHS 1.2 billion, the Electoral Commission is spending over 200 million dollars without consensus to undertake a new Voter Register. (These people have) no love for country. Yet, there is shortage of clean water, no stable electricity, school blocks and dormitories are inadequate, most students cannot afford university fees, parents are struggling, businesses are suffering, there is shortage of hospital beds, nursing mothers are sleeping on the floor with new born babies, Etc. Are we okay?
