His promotion from a Commissioner of Police to Apromoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) was just announced less than one month ago, but Omololu Shamsideen Bishi would not have more than a few days to enjoy his new office as he has succumbed to the cold hands of death. AIG Bishi reportedly died last night following an undisclosed brief illness.
Late Bishi, an indigene of Lagos, was Benue State Commissioner of Police beforwe he later moved to the Force Headquarters, Abuja last year, to be in charge of Armament.
His remwins are being buried this morning at the Ebony Vaults in Lagos.
The late Bishi was among 13 AIGs appointed by the Police Service Commission (PSC) on December 18, 2020.
He was once a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Lagos and Area Commander in Mushin, also in Lagos.
The news of his death is coming as a rude shock to many of his friends and associates. The late AIG Bishi was an astute and sociable officer.
