Yusuf Buhari & Zahra Ado Bayero Kicks Their Presidential Wedding Off With Polo Tourney

The eyes of the world will be on the ancient city of Kano come Friday, August 20 when what is already being tipped to be the 'Wedding of The Year' will be staged. Already, activities for the much-talked wedding of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf who will be tying the knot with the second daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Zahra Ado-Bayero have kicked off. And it's still two weeks to the D-day. The city of Kano will be literary shut down in a forth night's time. Bigwigs from all over the country and abroad will converge on the city to join the First Family and their influential in-laws at the Wedding Fathia. Jets will be lining the strips of the Kano Airport on that weekend, as we hear that all major hotels have been booked. It is expected to be one of the most expensive weddings to be held in Nigeria in recent years, going by all that is involved in the wedding.
Last weekend-over the weekend, the awaiting couple started their pre-wedding festivities with a special Polo Tournament held in Abuja.
The Polo Tournament was organised by their friends and was attended by their friends and family members, including the newlywed daughter of the Bauchi State Governor, Fatima Zahra Bala and her husband, Malah Sheriff.
This was followed by a classy Bridal shower organised by the friends of the Bride-to-be two days ago. Zahra looked elegant at the private event that had just her very close friends in attendance.

In June, the father of the groom-to-be, President Buhari sent a powerful delegation to Kano to officially seek Zahra’s hand in marriage to his son. Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami led the emissaries that include governors of Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Badaru Abubakar (Jigawa) and and Babagana Zulum (Borno), former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari and Kano State Deputy Governor Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna.

The delegation, on behalf of Yusuf Buhari, sought the hand of Zahra Nasir Ado Bayero from the Emir of Kano, who is the elder brother of the Emir of Bichi. They also paid homage to the Bichi emir and in-law to be of the President

Last week, the father of the bride-to-be, Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasir Ado-Bayero, had inaugurated a 145-man committee to facilitate a hitch-free wedding Fatiha.

It is going to be double celebrations for the bride's dad as the second day, August 21 will witness his official coronation and presentation of staff of office by the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The President, who has been in the UK on medical travels, is due back in the county on time for the wedding.
Almost all governors, members of the national assembly, cabinet members and who is who in Nigeria have been invited to the wedding and will most-likely be making it to Kano.

Our sources also informed that all the 36 states First Ladies are in solidarity with the groom's mum and will definitely be identifying with their leader in Kano. We also gathererd that special security operations are already ongoing secretly in Kano to ensure a hitch-free ceremony.
Yusuf Buhari who is the only surviving son of the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, graduated from the University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom in 2016 with his sister Zahra.
