It was gathered that Sheik Habeeb, dressed in a white Agbada and green cap had barely started delivering his sermon when he started feeling uncomfortable and collapsed a few moments later. The incident occurred about two hours after the cleric arrived at the event.
He was immediately rushed to the the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) where he was admitted. He later responded to treatment and is now recuperating, reports said.
All the guests at the wedding Fathia were left uncomfortable by the incident, although other proceedings later went on. Meanwhile, the strangeness of the occurrence has also become a topic of discussion among Muslim faithfuls who suggested that there might be more to what happened, as the vociferous cleric was hale and hearty on his arrival at the event. He has been in charge of a scholarly empire established by his late father, Sheik Adam Abdullah Al-Ilory, who was a globally referred Islamic scholar who died in 1992.
