Prince Ademola Olanibi, the CEO of London-based artist management and music promotions agency Malio Entertainments has taken a deep swipe at individuals spreading negative tales about how late Lagos socialite and showbiz/sports promoter, Dotun Olaribigbe (Lobito Disco) died a broke man on social media. The undertone of the posts Mallio reffered to was that Lobito lavished his fortunes on social life and musicians like Sir Shiina Peters (SSP) who praised him to high heavens in their hit songs during his hey days. He was so critical of people who have been attaching negative comments to pictures of the late Olaribigbe and audio clip of his special number by SSP. That they are sharing his images all over social media "would have been enough to honor his memory, perhaps put a little smile on the face of his loved ones still grieving his loss. However that wasn't the case as some of us can be downright mischievous. Folks always eager, ever ready to do Satan's bidding. Sadistic even, or what do we tag folks that choose to glorify in the abject misery of others? Mallio queried in his post on FB this morning.
"I guess the point they tried to make was to inform the public on how he perhaps wrecked his own life, either because Sina once sang his praise on record or because he once had money or fame and he lost it all or the morality of prudence or the foolishness of wealth mismanagement!. Whatever points the poster struggled to insinuate were nevertheless stupid - as Lobito ended his life the way Nigeria willed it! And to whoever is helping to propagate or sharing this nonsensical update all over SM, and feeling cool about such sadistic entertainment - please pray that Nigeria is not writing or rewriting your own script now or much later! For Lobito was not a lazy man! He was one of the Hustlers of hustlers of his generation", he said.
The trending story is that Lobisco died broke, deserted by friends; that things were bad for him to the extent that he was unable to pay his house rent and got ejected from his rented apartment in Surulere.

Lobito Disco!
Folks have been posting pictures of the recently departed Dotun Olaribigbe a.k.a Lobito over the eponymous soundtrack of the 'Lobito Disco' tune recorded by SSP for him in his heydays.
That would have been enough to honor his memory, perhaps put a little smile on the face of his loved ones still grieving his loss. However that wasn't the case as some of us can be downright mischievous. Folks always eager, ever ready to do Satan's bidding. Some miserable fellow without the foreknowledge of his or her own end, chose to attach some stupid, wicked and insensitive theses to the beautiful sound of Lobito Disco, where he ingloriously elucidated the many travails of the man preceding his untimely death, mere days to his birthday. I guess the point they tried to make was to inform the public on how he perhaps wrecked his own life, either because Sina once sang his praise on record or because he once had money or fame and he lost it all or the morality of prudence or the foolishness of wealth mismanagement!

For Lobito was not a lazy man! He was one of the Hustlers of hustlers of his generation. The last time I saw him, he was at that time one of the few indigenous sports promoter in the nation! In 1990 - 92 - Bash Ali, Joe Lasisi, Jeremiah Okorodudu and many others were some of the boxers on his roster.
Lastly, remember that a family just lost a breadwinner - practically. Think well about putting them through another, different kind of trauma! Therefore be kind, be thoughtful to desist from being part of another sadist's stupid drama!
Rest In Peace Lobito! Shina Peters really can't sing for anyone anymore the way he killed that shortie on you! He hyped you to death on that record! Captain Osa was the wealthiest of the lot. However Lobito is the name that shall ring out loud through generations! And for that reason, I think you won over death!
