The colourful celebration had all the trappings of a grand party. Apart from being a known socialite who, over the years, top Yoruba musicians like K1 the Ultimate ,Yinka Ayefele and Musiliu Haruna Ishola have waxed special numbers for - is highly revered by his kinsmen in Yewaland, where he is a leader. His exploits as a successful freight forwarder has also earned him the admiration of many. His allias, 'Socopao' was originally derived from his company name.
He is also a grassroot politician and philanthropist who enjoys good relationship with past and present Governors of Ogun state. His home in Agosasa, in Yewa North Local government, is usually a behive of activities. This is underscored by the presence of Gov. Dapo Abiodun at the event yesterday. His Deputy, Engr. Noimot Oyedele was an early caller at the event too. In his speech, the Governor extoled the the celebrant's virtues and conmended him for his contribution to politics in Yewa and Ogun state. He thanked the celebrant specially for believing in him and supporting his ambition to become governor.
A high point of the event was the celebrant's grand entrance into the venue. He was driven into the hall in a vintage Peugeot car. Socopao is a chronic lover of good automobiles. The party was also well-attended by top monarchs and socialites from Ogun state. Chief Ibrahim Egungbohun (IBD Dende) led the Ogun state social circus to the party. He is a godson to the celebrant. He came with his pretty wife, Lara and their children. Otunba Wale Saranda, Alhaji Olanrenwaju Muhammed (Lamex), and Otunba Bola Adenuga and other businessmen-socialites - to mention a few, were in attendance. Fuji music czar, K1 De Ultimate was on the bandstand till late, before the celebrant's children and their many friends took it to another level with an after party that lasted till the early hours of today.
