Yesterday, the Olabisi Onabanjo University Muslim community, Ago–Iwoye commissioned a newly built Ultra Modern Masjid named As–Sujood Mosque at the main Campus of the university in Ago- Iwoye, Ogun state. The mosque, put at a cost of N300 million has the capacity for 1200 worshippers, (comprising male and female sections, ablution center, toilets, parking lot and one minaret, was completed within eleven months. Reputable Nigerian financial services industry expert and immediate past pro– chancellor of the university, Hajia Tamramat Mosun Bello Olusoga donated the mosque.
The commissioning was graced by several dignitaries including the pro–chancellor OOU ,Prof Toyin Ashiru, Vice Chancellor OOU, Prof Ganiyu O. Olatunde, Chairman and pro–chancellor of Summit University, Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, Senator Sefiu Adegbenga Kaka, The Ebumawe of Ago –Iwoye, Oba AbdurRasaq Adenuga, amongst others. The National chief missioner of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Shaykh AbdurRahmon Ahmad delivered a special sermon.
Hajia Mosun Bello Olusoga, fondly referred to as “Aunty Mo”, is a woman of many firsts. She was the first female Executive director at Guaranty Trust Bank, the first female Director at Access Bank, the first female director of First Premium Pensions Limited, the first female Chairman of Access Bank and the first Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Olabisi Onabanjo University. She is an educator who offers training in the financial sector and also a school purposely built to raise tech-savvy youths with bright young minds. Aunty Mo is also a keen advocate for women in the workplace. She is the founder of City of Knowledge Academy, Ijebu-Ode.
