$25m Overpaid By Akufo-Addo Govt On Ambulances Could Have Built Over 500 Blocks Of Classrooms For SHS - HRH Oscar Doe

Reputable businessman, HRH Oscar Yao Doe has said that President Akufo-Addo is fast disstancing himself from public trust, after facts emerged that the 307 ambulances recently acquired by his government were highly overpriced. Earlier today, the Doscar Group Holdings chairman had revealed that the ambulances were overpaid for to the tune of $25m, according to current global prices. In a follow up post, he said Ghana's public purse is under attack, wondering if the country does not having any genuine person to protect her interest?

He said the excess funds paid on the acquisition of the ambulances could have been channeled towards the construction of about 500 blocks of Classrooms across the country. Read the full post below...

(Is) Ghana's public purse under attack? Can you imagine that a brand new, well-equipped Mercedes Sprinter Van Ambulance is available online on alibaba.com for $51,000. So, why do you spend a whopping $133,000 to buy the same Item? Alibaba.com is a global online retail giant owned by famous billionaire, Jack Ma.

My suggestion to our political leaders: Next time, you should comb the market very well to compare prices before you commit taxpayers' money into such transactions.

Something is not adding up! Interesting times for Mother Ghana under the watch of President Akufo-Addo Addo's leadership that claims to be the so-called "competent and non-corrupt".

So now, who is protecting the public purse? Is Ghana not having any genuine person to protect her interest?

One ambulance, with an open market value cost per unit is $51,000 × 307 = $15,657,000. And the same ambulances purchased miraculously from heaven by our leaders cost $133,000. Compared, the difference is $82,000 × 307= $25,174,000.

Is something wrong with us? Do we really care about Ghana?

$133,000 × 307 = $40,831,000. We could have saved a total difference Of $25,174,000, equivalent to GHS143,491,800 million, which can build 573 units of classroom blocks for Senior Secondary Schools (SHS) at a cost of GHS250,000 per block. Or let's assume tht even if each block cost GHS500,000, it can still build 286 units of classroom block, that would reduce the pain children and parents are going through on the double-track system challenges.

President Akufo-Addo keeps distancing himself from "Trust", through his actions and deeds.
