His son Emmanuel Boisala Adejumo broke the news of Baba Sala’s passage on Facebook.
Born in 1936, Baba Sala, a Yoruba from Ijesha, popularized theater and television acting in Nigeria alongside other dramatists like Hubert Ogunde, Kola Ogunmola, Oyin Adejobi and Duro Ladipo.
He started his career in entertainment as a Highlife musician. As at 1964, he was leading a group known as the Federal Rhythm Dandies where he tutored and guided the jùjú music maestro King Sunny Adé who was his lead guitar player.
